Christie Brimberry has worked alongside Richard Rawlings at Gas Monkey Garage for a long time now, and she's been a huge factor in the shop's success over the years. Through her social media accounts, she updated her fans on her progress every so often. It was discovered that she had a cancerous lymph node from her thyroid, but she bravely pushed forward.

As part of her treatment prior to the actual surgery, Christie had to undergo chemotherapy. Although radiation therapy is never a fun time, she handled it like a champ. Once the time finally came in October to do the surgery, the cancerous lymph node was successfully removed, but her voice box was damaged in the process after the nerve was cut. This resulted in six months without using her voice, but it seemed to have all paid off in the end.

In 2017, Christie announced to the world via tweet that she was officially cancer-free. Gas Monkey Garage uploaded a heartfelt message for her and congratulated her on this amazing feat. Her fans were also very outspoken with their excitement.
