A must-watch for Yorgos fans Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/19/24 Full Review Audience Member From this strange style of Filmmaking, the Director (Yorgos Lanthimos) really gives a strong attraction to what the audience is experiencing in his films. Uncomfortability, Curiosity, and Anticipation are the elements in the film. That being said this film misses a few marks on the execution of these elements. For Uncomfortability, it was the perfect balance of this method used to tell the film. But of curiosity and anticipation, it fell through after the inciting incident was revealed halfway in the movie. The anticipation fell through scene by scene. The curiosity was maintained but the issue overall is that we saw the cause of the film but never saw the effect. Similar to hearing a gun being shot but you dont see the bullets. Overall the film misses the mark for me but I am sure “Martian will make me understand one way or another”.
