Dear Anne, shalom.
I think in some way you have good perspective. God does what he wills. When he wills. How he wills. The kingdom of God is far more deep that government and state (and I can go on). I however think that you overlook one very important point. This point is this: After 2000+ years of exile and Jewish people have returned to the Land that once promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This in and of itself should make you think. What if I am overacting to Christian Zionists and hyperdispensationalist Bible teachers too much??? What if God in His great providence WILLED for that state of Israel to be reformed again? It just feels to me that you’ve been talking with people for whom Israel and the Jews vs. Israel’s God is the center of the world in every way (something that should not be), so you are overreacting.
Now what this all means I don’t know :-).
I live in Israel. I love living in Israel. I am a patriot of my country as you should be a patriot of yours (which I trust you also are).
Let’s keep on thinking together. Shall we?
Dr. Eli

I wonder about the fishers and hunters? Who are they?
“Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The LORD lives, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands where he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. (Jer 16:14-16)
And the stages of revival from Ezekiel,
“Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD. (Eze 37:11-14)
Thus the stages are 1. bringing the National life up from being dead . 2. bringing Jews to the land. 3. Then a New Spirit 4. Then the nation lives and there will be fulfillment of the other verses you have quoted.
One prophecy I note- Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: (Eze 37:21-22)
It appears to me there are 2 types of Jews. Those on the mountains and those of the Plain- One part is called “Isarel” by the worlds media, the other part Jews call Judea and Samaria, and the media the “West Bank”. Now how did Ezekiel know that the 2 would need to become one nation – on the mountains- before their king came?
